Tango and Salsa in Buenos Aires
When it comes to dancing, Buenos Aires is a place that never sleeps. There are so many Tango teachers in the city you can practically take a Tango lesson at any time of day. There are Tango socials (milongas) during the afternoons and in the evenings. Stay till 1 or 2 am and when you get tired of it just go hit one of the salsa clubs. On Wednesdays "Sudaca" on Sarmiento plays wicked salsa till 4am. The 2 "Azucars" are smash hits on weekends. The smaller one in Abasto has a cool atmosphere and plays non-stop salsa till 7.30am. The bigger one in Belgrano is more elegant but plays electronic music at 3am for a whole hour and also features Latino line-dancing ( umm... not really my style =) ... ) Then again, you can stay till closing at 8 or visit one of the regular dance clubs. There are tons of them and I'm sure one of them will whet your appetite. Dance till you drop and go home at 9 am. Then sleep all day. That's what I did !
PS.. Salsa dancers in Buenos Aires dance on both 1 & 2. Lots of them dance very well and are as good as dancers in Toronto -- & Hamilton. So get ready to face the challenge !!
